Hi, I'm Kate.
I'm a Mum, I work full-time, and I'm a solidly average runner who somehow ended up obsessed with ultrarunning. I'm not sponsored, I'm not elite, and I'm training and racing on a real budget — which is exactly why this business exists.
Because here's the thing nobody tells you when you sign up for your first ultra: it's not just shoes and shorts. It's the right shoes for your specific feet and terrain, poles, hydration, nutrition timing, drop bags, layers for weather that can swing 40 degrees over a day. It's genuinely overwhelming, and most of the advice out there is written by people with unlimited time and unlimited budgets — not by someone squeezing in training runs between school drop-off and everything else life demands.
I don't want you wasting money on gear that isn't indended for us mere mortals, and I don't want you so overwhelmed that you never start at all. I've made those mistakes myself, more than once. This business is me doing the research I wish someone had done for me — so you can spend your time and money on what actually matters, and get to your start line.
